Mac ‘Creme Cup’ Dupe: Topshop Lip Crayon in ‘Wave Goodbye’

Hi everyone!

Mac’s Creme Cup is one of my favourite lipsticks ever; it’s such a pretty pink and is suitable for everyday wear (I have written a review on it here). However, my one qualm is the price. At ¬£15, it’s not the most affordable makeup item. I’ve been looking for a dupe for ages and I came across this one by chance when I pulled it out the back of my makeup drawer whilst looking for an eyeliner.

I really love Topshop’s lip crayons. They have some lovely colours and they are very moisturising.

Left- Mac’s ‘Creme Cup’

Right- Topshop’s ‘Wave Goodbye’

As you can see, the colours are very similar. The Topshop one is a little pinker, but on the lips, they look exactly the same.

They have a very similar finish too. They are both ‘sheeny’ (it might be a word?) with the Topshop one being a bit more glossy than the other, but I love them both regardless.

My only problem with ‘Wave Goodbye’ is that the wear time is about half an hour, without eating or drinking, compared to ‘Creme Cup’ which lasts about 2 hours with light eating and drinking (no huge meals though!)

However, the Topshop one comes in at ¬£7 which is ¬£8 cheaper than Mac’s, which means you could buy two lip crayons and have a pound left over instead! I would rather go for a cheaper one and reapply more often.

That’s all for today’s post, I hope you enjoyed and found it helpful! Do you have any Mac lipstick dupes?

Recent Poundland Makeup Finds

Hi everybody!

¬†I’m back again after a failed attempt of going technology free (more on that in a later blog post). Today I’ll be showing you my latest Poundland makeup finds. Lately, Poundland has had some rubbish stuff in, with no new stock (they just had their usual chitchat things and rimmel eyeshadows). Yesterday I decided to go in and have a quick look as I’d heard they’d got some good things in, and I’m very glad I did!

I bought three things which obviously cost me three pounds.

Left to right- Rimmel Scandaleyes Eyeshadow Paint ‘Rich Russet’, Rimmel Stay Blushed ‘Sunkissed Cherry’,¬†Rimmel Scandaleyes Eyeshadow Paint ‘Golden Bronze’.

I’d wanted to try the eyeshadow paints for ages so when I saw these two (the last ones left) I made a mad dash for them! They retail at ¬£4.99 usually so it’s not a huge saving, but one I’m very happy with, I can’t wait to try them.I was also considering reviewing them on here so please leave a comment below if you’d like that.¬†

The eyeshadow paint in ‘Rich Russet’. It’s a taupe-grey with shimmer.

The other one is ‘Golden Bronze’ which is exactly that- a golden bronze.

This is a liquid blush which is smooth and easy to apply. You squeeze a little bit out either straight onto your cheek or onto your fingers then blend out to leave a really pretty natural flush. It retails at ¬£4.49 but it’s on offer for ¬£3.49 in Boots at the moment.¬†

On the back of the blush packaging it said ‘This product may contain blush’. I found this funny so I thought I’d add it in ūüėČ

So that’s all I got! For three pounds I’m pretty pleased, pop in to your local poundland and see what you can find!¬†

What’s the best thing you’ve ever found in Poundland?

Going Technology Free

Hi everyone!

¬†Recently I have been finding more and more that I’ve been getting headaches and¬†aching eyes, which I believe is a result of too much screen time. So… I have decided to go technology free for one week.

¬†I’m interested to see how much more productive I am without wasting loads of time on YouTube, Twitter, Instagram etc…

Sometimes I check Twitter (for example) not because I want to, but because I feel a compulsive need to. I really want to try and cut back on my time on technology to appreciate the real things in life, not the online world. So, I will only be using any technology when I need to contact someone, and even then I will call instead of texting.

¬†I will write a post on my week when it’s over, so stay tuned for that.

Why don’t you give going tech free a go with me?
