Review: Benefit Fake Up

Hi everyone!

I received Fake Up as a free sample when I got  makeover at the Benefit counter. So I didn’t buy it myself, but this review is unsponsored and all my own opinions! And let me tell you, I am very glad that I didn’t spend a penny on this…

I was really excited to try this as I had read so many rave reviews about how it doesn’t cake at all… well I had a very different experience with it.  As soon as I put this on and blended it in, all the coverage disappeared left a cakey mess. It settled into all the creases under my eyes and I had to take it off- it was embarrassing! My circles were still very visible but I had patchy concealer, not a good look!

A plus side is that after I took it off, my under eyes did seem to be more moisturised.

All my reviews seem to be very negative at the moment! There will be a good review soon though, follow me on bloglovin’ to see that which should be up in the next week!

What’s your favourite concealer?

Review: MUA Matte lipstick in ‘Lilac Belle’

This lipstick is one I’ve had my eyes on ever since it came out not that long ago, as part of MUA’s spring capsule collection. I’ve wanted a lilac lipstick for ages but I didn’t want to spend too much, as I wasn’t sure how much I would wear it. So when this l saw this new release, I was straight out to buy it!

It is from their matte lipstick collection and is supposed to be lilac. However, I find it to be a lot more pinky than lilac which is slightly disappointing, but it’s a pretty colour none the less. I find the texture of it to be very dry and hard, making it very difficult to apply. Nonetheless, once you’ve managed to apply it, it does look nice. It has a wear of about two hours and fades evenly so you don’t have to reapply if you don’t want to. I’m still on the hunt for a good, affordable lilac lipstick, but for one pound, this isn’t half bad.

You can purchase it in stores and here.

Do you have any lilac lipstick recommendations?

Review: Benefit Big Easy BB cream

For me, Benefit have not been doing well lately. This, and the Fake Up concealer have been very disappointing (review on that to come). I know they’ve got a new product coming out on the 12th May, so hopefully that will be better! Anyways, on to the review…

I am very pale, but I have this in the shade ’02-light’, so the lightest shade would be for the palest of us all.

I know that this isn’t supposed to be a full coverage foundation by any means, but I find that it gives absolutely no coverage whatsoever. In fact, all it does is cake up on my skin, resulting in a patchy looking face- definitely not what I was after! To wear this, you would have to already have practically perfect skin, but even then, I would recommend something like this, my personal favourite BB cream, which is considerably better and cheaper.

Also, if you have any dry patches, this will completely highlight them and make them extremely obvious.

If there is anything positive to say about this, it is that it does sort of control my oily skin for about half an hour, which is sadly pretty much the longest time any product has done that, but what’s the point in good oil control when everything else is rubbish?

If you want this to look remotely nice, I would definitely advise moisturising beforehand but I would suggest that you only try this if you have no dry patches and clear skin.

If you would like to buy it, it is available in stores and online here

I hope this has helped you if you’re considering buying it. Have you had a better experience with this?

Review: Mac Lipstick in ‘Creme Cup’

Hi everyone!

As you can tell from the title, today I am going to be reviewing my first ever Mac lipstick, Creme Cup.

mac creme cup

It is a pinky nude colour, perfect for everyday wear, which is great when you’re paying £15 for a lipstick- you want to get your moneys worth! It’s cremesheen so it is not matte but not super glossy-it is the perfect middle between them. I also find it very moisturising.

It is a pretty pale pink, so it wouldn’t always suit darker skin tones. Make sure you go into the shop and test it before you buy!  However, this lipstick is not all perfect. I find that if there is any dryness or cracks on my lips, this accentuates them, so you have to make sure your lips are very smooth before you put this on.

Also, the wear on this is not great. It get about 4 hours wear from this, so not terrible but could be better. However, I do find that it fades evenly so you don’t have to worry about getting patchy looking lips.

Overall, I do absolutely love this lipstick and I wear it on a daily basis, including to school. I think it is a great beginner Mac lipstick because you will get your moneys worth from it!

I hope this review helped you! You can buy this lipstick here.

Makeup Revolution-A New Makeup Brand

Hi everyone!

Whilst reading this blog, I came across the new makeup brand Makeup Revolution. It’s very similar in price to MUA, so very affordable! It has a very wide range of products, including these amazing looking lipsticks!

My favourite picks are the Iconic (1,2 and 3) palettes, which look like very interesting and similar dupes to the Naked palettes. Also, I am intrigued by the metal eye foils, especially in ‘Rose Gold’.

I think an order is to be placed!

Makeup Revolution has just become available in Superdrug, so hopefully they’ll be in stores soon.

What’s on your wishlist?
