Freebie in Glamour magazine: Eyeko liquid eyeliner

Hi everyone!

Today I was in the supermarket and came across the magazine stand. I saw Glamour magazine’s freebie was a full size Eyeko liquid eyeliner in either navy or black. The magazine was only £2 and included a £12 eyeliner! It’s a great bargain and if you can pick it up I definitely would! I bought the black one and after trying it, I think I’ll be getting the navy one too… In another magazine there were two mini Ciate nail polishes, I forget the magazine and the price but it was definitely under £3. It’s well worth having a look in your nearest supermarket.

This was just a quick post but I didn’t want you to miss out on a good deal! Two eyeliners worth £24 for £4?! Yes please!

Mac ‘Creme Cup’ Dupe: Topshop Lip Crayon in ‘Wave Goodbye’

Hi everyone!

Mac’s Creme Cup is one of my favourite lipsticks ever; it’s such a pretty pink and is suitable for everyday wear (I have written a review on it here). However, my one qualm is the price. At £15, it’s not the most affordable makeup item. I’ve been looking for a dupe for ages and I came across this one by chance when I pulled it out the back of my makeup drawer whilst looking for an eyeliner.

I really love Topshop’s lip crayons. They have some lovely colours and they are very moisturising.

Left- Mac’s ‘Creme Cup’

Right- Topshop’s ‘Wave Goodbye’

As you can see, the colours are very similar. The Topshop one is a little pinker, but on the lips, they look exactly the same.

They have a very similar finish too. They are both ‘sheeny’ (it might be a word?) with the Topshop one being a bit more glossy than the other, but I love them both regardless.

My only problem with ‘Wave Goodbye’ is that the wear time is about half an hour, without eating or drinking, compared to ‘Creme Cup’ which lasts about 2 hours with light eating and drinking (no huge meals though!)

However, the Topshop one comes in at £7 which is £8 cheaper than Mac’s, which means you could buy two lip crayons and have a pound left over instead! I would rather go for a cheaper one and reapply more often.

That’s all for today’s post, I hope you enjoyed and found it helpful! Do you have any Mac lipstick dupes?

Recent Poundland Makeup Finds

Hi everybody!

I’m back again after a failed attempt of going technology free (more on that in a later blog post). Today I’ll be showing you my latest Poundland makeup finds. Lately, Poundland has had some rubbish stuff in, with no new stock (they just had their usual chitchat things and rimmel eyeshadows). Yesterday I decided to go in and have a quick look as I’d heard they’d got some good things in, and I’m very glad I did!

I bought three things which obviously cost me three pounds.

Left to right- Rimmel Scandaleyes Eyeshadow Paint ‘Rich Russet’, Rimmel Stay Blushed ‘Sunkissed Cherry’, Rimmel Scandaleyes Eyeshadow Paint ‘Golden Bronze’.

I’d wanted to try the eyeshadow paints for ages so when I saw these two (the last ones left) I made a mad dash for them! They retail at £4.99 usually so it’s not a huge saving, but one I’m very happy with, I can’t wait to try them.I was also considering reviewing them on here so please leave a comment below if you’d like that.

The eyeshadow paint in ‘Rich Russet’. It’s a taupe-grey with shimmer.

The other one is ‘Golden Bronze’ which is exactly that- a golden bronze.

This is a liquid blush which is smooth and easy to apply. You squeeze a little bit out either straight onto your cheek or onto your fingers then blend out to leave a really pretty natural flush. It retails at £4.49 but it’s on offer for £3.49 in Boots at the moment.

On the back of the blush packaging it said ‘This product may contain blush’. I found this funny so I thought I’d add it in 😉

So that’s all I got! For three pounds I’m pretty pleased, pop in to your local poundland and see what you can find!

What’s the best thing you’ve ever found in Poundland?

Going Technology Free

Hi everyone!

Recently I have been finding more and more that I’ve been getting headaches and aching eyes, which I believe is a result of too much screen time. So… I have decided to go technology free for one week.

I’m interested to see how much more productive I am without wasting loads of time on YouTube, Twitter, Instagram etc…

Sometimes I check Twitter (for example) not because I want to, but because I feel a compulsive need to. I really want to try and cut back on my time on technology to appreciate the real things in life, not the online world. So, I will only be using any technology when I need to contact someone, and even then I will call instead of texting.

I will write a post on my week when it’s over, so stay tuned for that.

Why don’t you give going tech free a go with me?

Don’t forget to follow me on bloglovin!

Review: Benefit Fake Up

Hi everyone!

I received Fake Up as a free sample when I got  makeover at the Benefit counter. So I didn’t buy it myself, but this review is unsponsored and all my own opinions! And let me tell you, I am very glad that I didn’t spend a penny on this…

I was really excited to try this as I had read so many rave reviews about how it doesn’t cake at all… well I had a very different experience with it.  As soon as I put this on and blended it in, all the coverage disappeared left a cakey mess. It settled into all the creases under my eyes and I had to take it off- it was embarrassing! My circles were still very visible but I had patchy concealer, not a good look!

A plus side is that after I took it off, my under eyes did seem to be more moisturised.

All my reviews seem to be very negative at the moment! There will be a good review soon though, follow me on bloglovin’ to see that which should be up in the next week!

What’s your favourite concealer?

Review: MUA Matte lipstick in ‘Lilac Belle’

This lipstick is one I’ve had my eyes on ever since it came out not that long ago, as part of MUA’s spring capsule collection. I’ve wanted a lilac lipstick for ages but I didn’t want to spend too much, as I wasn’t sure how much I would wear it. So when this l saw this new release, I was straight out to buy it!

It is from their matte lipstick collection and is supposed to be lilac. However, I find it to be a lot more pinky than lilac which is slightly disappointing, but it’s a pretty colour none the less. I find the texture of it to be very dry and hard, making it very difficult to apply. Nonetheless, once you’ve managed to apply it, it does look nice. It has a wear of about two hours and fades evenly so you don’t have to reapply if you don’t want to. I’m still on the hunt for a good, affordable lilac lipstick, but for one pound, this isn’t half bad.

You can purchase it in stores and here.

Do you have any lilac lipstick recommendations?

Review: Benefit Big Easy BB cream

For me, Benefit have not been doing well lately. This, and the Fake Up concealer have been very disappointing (review on that to come). I know they’ve got a new product coming out on the 12th May, so hopefully that will be better! Anyways, on to the review…

I am very pale, but I have this in the shade ’02-light’, so the lightest shade would be for the palest of us all.

I know that this isn’t supposed to be a full coverage foundation by any means, but I find that it gives absolutely no coverage whatsoever. In fact, all it does is cake up on my skin, resulting in a patchy looking face- definitely not what I was after! To wear this, you would have to already have practically perfect skin, but even then, I would recommend something like this, my personal favourite BB cream, which is considerably better and cheaper.

Also, if you have any dry patches, this will completely highlight them and make them extremely obvious.

If there is anything positive to say about this, it is that it does sort of control my oily skin for about half an hour, which is sadly pretty much the longest time any product has done that, but what’s the point in good oil control when everything else is rubbish?

If you want this to look remotely nice, I would definitely advise moisturising beforehand but I would suggest that you only try this if you have no dry patches and clear skin.

If you would like to buy it, it is available in stores and online here

I hope this has helped you if you’re considering buying it. Have you had a better experience with this?
